Lighting Up
Tribute.

To celebrate the restoring Silverdale Monument, a community lighting up event took place to switch on the monument lights.

The community were invited to make mini light boxes with arts group Letting In The Light, as well as being given canary tea light holders to light up the event.

It was an emotional night as people remembered the miners who lost their lives, their family members who worked in the pit and are no longer with us and told stories of the pit to younger community members.
